Sunday 23rd October 2011
Brightside Road, Whangaparaoa

Labour Weekend 2011 was the time for a special event in New Zealand - the Finals of the Rugby World Cup <Go the All Blacks!>

Rodney hosted a number of events over the weekend to celebrate this - and Auckland Council asked Whangaparaoa Rotary to run a special one off Soapbox Derby in their fan zone area prior to the match.

Entry was open to all participants who raced in 2011 and ten teams took up the challenge - 1 from East Auckland, 3 from West Auckland and 6 from Whangaparaoa.

Three masters cars and the 2011 NZ Champion also turned up for a spin down the track.

It was a great day for a spot of relaxed racing and all involved had an enjoyable time.
