2016 Soapbox Derby 6th March 2016
Dear schools, teachers, parents and sponsors.
Our Derby Day dawned clear and wind free and it continued to be perfect for us all day.
Thank you so much to all the teams, teachers, and parents for an action packed day with many surprises. Watch out for the notifications in Thursday’s and Tuesday’s Western Leader. Thank you also to the Westgate shops who donated prizes

Finals Day
Finals day is on March 20th 2016 at 9-00am at Brightside Rd Stanmore Bay Whangaparoa.
The first 6 winners from West Auckland are racing BUT, if one is unable to race, the 7th person on the list will be racing in their place. Make sure that if one of the six winners is unable to attend that the 7th or even 8th winner is given time to get ready ! ONLY ONE CAR PER DRIVER IS ALLOWED! Drivers should be on-site at the bottom of the course in the pits area by 8.00 am for scrutineering.
Please make sure that you have the driver’s birth certificates handy in case your entrant is the winner and will be off to Akron, USA!
Get a group together and go along and barrack for your team, it will be a fun filled day.
Walk of Champions
On Finals Day all past winners are invited to take part in the “Walk of Champions” held at the venue at 9-00 am, just be there!
